The Next Narrative Summit gathered thought leaders and changemakers from across the country in Miami late last year and served as the perfect platform to showcase the bold and transformative initiatives underway through the GroundBreak Coalition. At the September 2024 Summit, Tonya Allen, President of the McKnight Foundation and a founding member of the GroundBreak Coalition shared insights into the $1 billion raised in 2023 to support racial equity and carbon neutrality in Minneapolis-Saint Paul.
At the Summit, Tonya spoke about the power of collaboration, emphasizing that GroundBreak’s impact extends far beyond fundraising. GroundBreak unites over 40 corporate, civic, and philanthropic partners committed to reimagining the future, shifting mindsets, redefining approaches to equity, and demonstrating the immense potential of collective action. “Achieving equity requires boldness, courage, and a commitment to collaboration,” Tonya stated. “This is how we create solutions that endure.”
GroundBreak’s innovative approach is centered on deploying capital strategically to uplift communities, building durable, intergenerational wealth.
