Earlier this year, the GroundBreak Coalition announced its inaugural Executive Council. Today, we are pleased to announce Jennifer Leimaile Ho, Commissioner of Minnesota Housing, has joined the GroundBreak Coalition’s Executive Council, serving in an ex-officio capacity.
Commissioner Ho has been a leader with GroundBreak since the coalition launched, serving on its first Steering Committee and as co-chair of the Rental Housing Work Group.
She was first appointed by Governor Tim Walz to lead Minnesota Housing in 2019 and reappointed in 2023.
The Commissioner has been working to end homelessness since 1999, first as executive director of Hearth Connection and later as deputy director at the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness. Her roles have focused on the intersection of health and housing, particularly health care financing and improving outcomes associated with supportive housing. Commissioner Ho served as the Senior Advisor for Housing and Services at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Obama Administration and worked with First Lady Michelle Obama to launch the Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness.
As an ex-officio member, the Commissioner will provide ongoing consultation and advice to GroundBreak but serve as a non-voting member of the Executive Council. GroundBreak is grateful to have Commissioner Ho’s continued leadership, expertise, and support.
